SELMA — A gaping sink hole on Broad Street will be fixed soon.
Mayor George Evans said Wednesday the city has applied for a grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to repair the problem.
Several weeks ago the Selma City Council voted to take available money in the treasury — about $50,000 — to fix the hole.
Evans said the grant was discovered over the holiday. He plans to present a resolution to the council that will clear the way for applying for the grant.
