The Morgan Academy Lady Senators tried everything they could to stop Kingwood’s Lauren Rozof but had no answers as Rozof scored a game high 26 points and posted 12 boards in the Lady Lions’ 37-20 win at Morgan.
The Lady Senators fell behind quickly as the Lady Lions broke out to a 21 – 5 first quarter lead. The Lady Senators fought back in the second quarter but still trailed by 13 at the half.
“We really worked to press their guards because we felt they were a little weak,” said Lady Lions’ head coach Johna Smith. “It got us up to a good lead, but we played a sloppy third and fourth quarter.”
Lady Senators’ head coach Robert Andress substituted freely throughout the game trying to find an answer for Rozof to no avail.
Whitney Gillespie added five points and five rebounds for the Lady Lions with Katherine Stockman posting four points and 10 boards.
April Clark paced the Lady Senators with 8 points and three rebounds with Whitney Norton posting four points and two boards and Mandy McQueen and Kalli Jones each scoring three points. Rachel Gomes had two points and eight boards
