James Barker

James W. Barker died February 28, 2010 shortly after suffering a stroke at his home in The Villages, Florida.
He was predeceased by Jean Barker, his wife of 62 years who passed away in July of 2008.
Jim was born March 3, 1923 in Plainview Texas. In 1947, the Barkers moved to Miami Florida, where for many years Jim was a successful builder. In 1990, Jim and Jean moved to Selma and restored an antebellum mansion they named White Columns.
A memorial service will be held for the Barkers at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church here in Selma on Monday, March 15, at 4:00 p.m.
