Dr. Geraldine Allen

Dr. Geraldine Allen, age 52, resident of Selma, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010.
Services are scheduled for Saturday April 17, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Darryl Moore.
Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Dr. Allen was the Director of the Master’s of Science in Nursing at Troy University, as well as the City Council President of the Selma City Council.
She has been employed as the director of the Intensive Care Unit at the Selma Medical Center, Nursing Education for the Vaughan Regional Hospital, an instructor at George C. Wallace College of Selma, and University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama.
She has held many other positions during her long nursing career.
She held the position as chairperson of The Jonathan Daniels Community Development former city school board member and a member of The Selma Water Board.
Survivors include her parents, Willie Williams and Eddie Mae Williams; spouse, Robert Allen, Sr.; one son, Robert Allen, Jr. (Princess); two brothers, Willie Williams, III, and Anthony Williams; one sister, Debra Cook; one grandchild, Hannah Allen; five brothers-in-laws, five sisters-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
