Two Selma men face charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, first-degree and certain person forbidden to carry a firearm.
Keotha Billingsley, 20, and Lamarious Prince, 18, were arrested by members of the Selma Police narcotics unit about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday on Voeglin Avenue. Billingsley also had a warrant for no drivers license.
Police department administrative division commander Sgt. Doug Stewart said members of the narcotics unit were talking with a complainant when the suspects told to them by the complainant drove by officers.
The officers stopped the suspects’ vehicle. While talking to the suspects, officers noticed in plain view a clear plastic bag containing a greenish, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Both men were placed under arrest.
Stewart said officers searched the vehicle and found a firearm and what is believed to be more marijuana.
Billingsley is in the Dallas County Jail under a $150,500 bond. Prince is in the Dallas County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
