Rondi Deionne McNealy, 42, of Beloit, is identified by police as the victim of a possible bludgeoning this afternoon in the parking lot of Bob’s Grocery on Ala. 22.
Coroner Allen Daily made the identification and said the death is a “suspected murder.”
The body has been taken to the forensics lab in Montgomery, where an autopsy will be performed. A cause of death is expected in about 48 hours, but a full report will not be available until about a week, according to the coroner.
An eyewitness, Alicia Carter, who was at the store, said two men became involved in an altercation. She said she saw one man take a hammer and hit the other.
Police have taken a man into custody identified locally only as “Tag Man.”
