Alabama State University head softball coach Telma O’Neal Hall has announced the hiring of Myesha Finney as the assistant softball coach.

Finney will make her ASU coaching debut following a standout career at Auburn University.

The Snellville, Ga., native lettered and started all four years as an outfielder for the Tigers. In 2008 and ’09 she was named to the All-Southeastern Conference defensive team. Finney concluded her senior season being named second team All-SEC.

Finney joins ASU following a season in which the Lady Hornets advanced to the semi-final round of last season’s SWAC tournament.

The Lady Hornets will begin fall softball practice Sept. 13.
