Carl Cope Morgan III

Carl Cope Morgan III, 60, of Selma, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Carl was born November 28, 1949 in Selma. He graduated from Marion Institute and attended Auburn University. He served in the Alabama National Guard for twenty three years. During this time, he was called to active duty to faithfully serve his country during Desert Storm in 1991. After his discharge, he returned to Morgan Blackbelt Tractor.

Carl was blessed to have supportive and loving friends throughout his community. His engaging personality put all at ease and made our lives blessed to have known and loved him.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jane and Carl Morgan. Survivors include his two sisters, Janie (Glenn) Serotsky, Warnelle (Marvin) Beasley, all of Pensacola, Florida. Also survived by niece Elizabeth Serotsky, and nephew Matthew Serotsky. Carl also enjoyed a special relationship with Amanda Dean Carmello and Clay Dean, formerly of Selma.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Selma. The family will receive friends at 1PM, service will begin at 2PM.
