MCS students make visit a pleasant one

There is something special about Meadowview Christian School. I’ve been asked there a few times and each time I come away with that premise. There seems to be a camaraderie among the students who range from first through twelfth grades. They are very respectful, courteous, kind and supportive of each other and to visitors on the campus. There is no doubt it is reflective of their parents, teachers and environment. Each time, I come away feeling good about the future.

It is not that they invited me to speak Thursday at their Veterans Day tribute, I’m sure they could have found better. I’ve always considered myself as less a speaker than writer

The students at Meadowview Christian should be commended for their support of veterans. Mrs. T. Stacey coordinated the program Thursday with the assistance of the Student Government Association. It ranged in depth from grades 1 through 12.

The program opened with a welcome to Meadowview by Mrs. Stacey.

She was followed by a Call to Order by Ashley Woods and the Invocation by Dylan Curtain. The program proceeded with the Posting of Colors by Garrett Grantham. Hope Redd recited a patriotic poem and Dylan Curtain led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterwards, Elizabeth Holley sang an acappella version of The Star Spangled Banner to the approval of everyone.

Presentations to two students, Sam Dabit and Garrett Grantham, were made by Catesby Jones of American Legion Post 20 for their faithfulness in caretaking of the flag at Meadowview Christian.

The fifth grade class recited the American Creed and the fourth grade entertained with “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” After a tribute to our honored dead by Cullen Nickels, Mrs. Stacey introduced me as the speaker. I was followed by Taylor McNeil who introduced special music by Dr. Kenny Hatcher.

The program ended with “Taps” by Heather Bedgood and dismissal by Mrs. Miriam Anderson, Head Master of Meadowview Christian.

I just can’t say enough good things about the student body and instructors at Meadowview Christian School. They treat you like family. God Bless all the students and teachers at this fine institution.
