Christmas wishes for Santa Claus
Published 9:14 pm Saturday, December 18, 2010
Dear Santa, please let this letter serve two purposes. The first of those purposes is to make a few personal requests for this season and the second, to make some requests for others.
First of all, I will say I have been a good boy this year. There would be those who might disagree, but please take into account the fact that many of those individuals are on your naughty list when making your decision.
As for what I want for Christmas, I figured I would start off with things unavailable at local stores.
I have a terrible time hitting my 4-iron, so I would like one that simply swings itself when needed.
The other would be for new gas price signs to be installed in the surrounding areas. The ones here seem to be broken with the price inching higher all the time. If possible, the new ones should be nearly impossible to change and should only begin with the number “1.”
I would ask for the 3G upgrade to be completed in the area by AT&T, but it seems there are even limits to your abilities. So, I will stick with things I may see in my lifetime.
On the less personal side, could you please make sure each of the children who submitted their letters to you through the Times-Journal recently have a wonderful Christmas. I know you received those letters already, but in case you missed a few, you can find them in the Christmas Eve edition of the Times-Journal.
The other request is for someone other than me. Please find whoever the person was who donated $10,000 to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Their anonymous donation helped push that program over the goal this year of helping provide some of our needy children a quality Christmas morning.
Their donation — rather their gift — was amazing and we know it went a long way in helping you out as well. Just think of all the gifts your elves would have made that this donation covered.
In closing, I hope you have a safe and quick trip this Christmas.
And, if there is any doubt, I have been a good boy this year. Take my word for it.
