June Rawls Thomason, 86, resident of Selma, AL passed away December 25, 2010.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at New Live Oak cemetery with Dr. Jerry Henry and Rev. Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service directing.

Mrs. Thomason was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Bertha Rawls; brother, Russell I. Rawls, Jr.; sister, Louise Rawls O’Gwynn.

She is survived by her husband, James Wiley Thomason; son, James Wiley Thomason III; daughter, June Thomason Twiggs; grandchildren, Jerry Thomason Twiggs and June Rawls Twiggs.

Pallbearers will be Richard Gibian, Keith King, Ken Morrison, Johnny Russell, and Ed Williams.

Mrs. Thomason spent the best years of her life being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially loved doing for others. The joy of her life was her husband of sixty three years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Threads of Love, an organization of Frazer Memorial Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, that provides for premature babies.
