There’s something about playing Southside that gets Charles Eaton excited.
After scoring 36 against the Panthers early in the season, Eaton had 19 points and 11 rebounds and led Selma High to an 83-56 win Saturday night.
Eaton’s performance included a one-handed dunk where he jumped and grabbed a rebound with his left hand before slamming the ball down.
“I could look down through the goal,” Eaton said.
The play came in the second quarter with the Saints already up by 10, and it energized the overflow crowd for several minutes.
“He’s something else,” Selma coach Woodie Jackson said. “If Charles really dedicates himself, he could have a bright future in basketball.”
De’Vaughn Hardick scored 16 points and the Saints (16-5) got 14 points from Malcolm Riley and Kerry Mitchell.
Riley also had nine rebounds.
“Usually we’re pretty talkative, but today it was quiet,” Eaton said. “We were all just focused on the game.”
