It’s time to prepare for spring

This morning in Pennsylvania a little critter will determine our weather patterns for the next six weeks, or so I am led to believe.
What I know for sure is in the next two months, the weather will be changing, and we will finally be able to enjoy that ever so brief time in Alabama where we can all agree that the weather is pretty much perfect.
So this year I have been trying to figure out just what is available to me during the spring months for me to enjoy.
I’m not a hunter, so that throws what ever season it is right out of the window.
I know we have prime hunting land around here, but the thought of killing something else never appealed to me, and the thought of having a gun in my hand is equally dangerous for anyone I went with.
I enjoy golfing, so I will most certainly be on a couple of courses over that time and locally we have a couple of good ones.
Two weeks ago I made it out to Craig Field for the first time and was surprised by how challenging it was, although when you are as bad as I am any course is challenging.
I love to fish and I’m sure there are great spots around the county that are great, but if you guys have a special spot, don’t be afraid to invite me.
I’ve always loved hiking, camping and anything outdoors.
So when it warms up a little bit I hope to finally take advantage of Paul Grist State Park.
It’s pretty out there and I would love to find some trails and see just what the park has to offer.
You can also take a ride down the Cahaba River either on kayak or canoe.
So keep your head up and start unpacking your shorts, bug spray and sun tan lotion.
We only have to put up with this cold for a little longer.
