A Selma man was killed in the early morning hours Monday after a car struck him.
Willie Collins, 50, died after he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 80, 2 miles east of Selma, according to Alabama State Trooper John Reese.
“Initial investigation indicates Collins, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 80 when he was struck by a 1996 Nissan Maxima,” Reese said.
Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the circumstance surrounding this crash.
A niece of Collins said the family is devastated.
“We want to know what happened,” Tifurah Cal said.
Cal, of Atlanta, said the family had requested a copy of the accident report, but had not received it.
