UNIONTOWN — Though the case is still under investigation by the Alabama Bureau of Investigations, charges have been filed in connection to a Sunday morning shooting that left Orrville resident Jonathan M. Butler dead.

Lamont Williams, 29, of Uniontown is being held in the Perry County Jail on charges of murder, attempted murder, assault third degree and two counts of assault second degree according to the district attorney’s office.

Five people, including Butler, were injured in the incident, however the district attorney’s office and ABI are still conducting interviews to determine if there were more victims.

The incident took place outside Lee’s Country Inn, a nightclub on Perry County Road 1 in Uniontown.

Butler, 22, was the only victim fatally injured.

Miller Funeral Service of Selma announced it was handling Butler’s arrangements and that they would be announced later once they have been finalized.

Perry County Sheriff James Hood once again could not be reached for comment.

Both the district attorney’s office and the ABI said they are still gathering information on the details that lead up to the shooting and the conditions of other victims.
