Gas prices continue to climb

Average retail gasoline prices in Alabama have risen 2.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.69 per gallon as of Sunday.
This compares with the national average that has increased 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.80 per gallon, according to gasoline price website AlabamaGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Alabama during the past week, prices Sunday were 95.0 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 25.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
The national average has increased 27.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 93.5 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
Of the four Selma-area gas stations displayed on AlabamaGasPrices.com, the Pure Station at the corner of Broad Street and Highland Avenue had the least expensive regular at $3.69 per gallon.
