The Yellow Dot program, which kicked off June 4, has announced there will be some changes coming in July.
Dallas County Emergency Management Agency Director Rhonda Abbot said there would be a slight adjustment to the July 9 and 16 programs.
The July 9 program will now be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department and the July 16 program will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marion Junction Community Center.
Abbott said she is hopeful more people will take advantage of the program because of its potential to save lives.
“This program requires each citizen sacrifice a small amount of time, which could in turn play a huge role in saving their own life,” she said. “It is a win-win; it provides individuals a voice, when perhaps they cannot communicate, and it provides first responders a visual as well as critical lifesaving information to help save lives.
“The best part is, it costs absolutely nothing.”
June enrollments continue June 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, June 15 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Orrville City Hall, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Summerfield Volunteer Fire Department, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the G.W.C. Nutrition Center, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Potters Station Volunteer Fire Department and June 29 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the YMCA in Selma.
July enrollments begin July 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marion Junction Community Center, July 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at Freedom Baptist Church, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Burnsville Fire Department, July 20 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Selma Fire Department, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Beloit Volunteer Fire Department, July 27, at the Selma Fire Department, and July 30 at the Craig Airport Authority.
The program places a yellow dot in the rear window of a vehicle that alerts first responders to vital information stored in a yellow envelope located in the glove compartment. This will ensure that citizens receive the medical attention they need if they are involved in a crash.
