Warren Manor has been loading up the trophy case in 2011.
The local senior care center, which is a part of the Sava Senior Care group, was recently awarded the company’s Blue Ribbon Award as well as the Bronze award from American Healthcare Association.
The Blue Ribbon award was designed in 2006 by Sava as a way to drive the best business practices across its nationwide centers.
Warren Manor, according to senior administrator Bernard Turk, has won the award all five years.
“I think only a handful of places in the country have done it,” Turk said. “Every year we have been able to win this award, and I think only two or three can say that. It just goes to show how great the employees at Warren Manor are.”
The Blue Ribbon award is given after all companies in Sava are judged randomly on a variety of qualifications like customer experience, quality staffing, business practices, quality care and environmental excellence.
The judging is done without warning.
“They just show up and start the process,” Turk said. “You have to be ready at all times. You just can’t see them coming one day and shape up.”
On top of the pride that comes with being a Blue Ribbon award winner, the program also offers incentives for employees of the winning business.
A bonus of up to $40,000 is available for first place regional winners to be split among active and part-time employees.
“It’s just something to show how proud we are of our workers here at Warren,” Turk said. “And we are very proud of them. Winning an award like this just shows the dedication and hard-working people who love what they do. This business is all about the residents and patients. You really have to love what you do to be in it, and everyone here does.”
