Though Natasha Davenport and Joseph Howell did not have a history of violent crime, each had an extensive criminal background prior to their arrest in connection to the disappearance and reported murder of Jimmy Davenport.

According to police records, Howell has the most extensive history with numerous charges of negotiating a worthless nonnegotiable instrument in 1999 and 2001, along with a contempt of court charge in April 1999.

Howell was also arrested on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card on May 27, 1994 and theft by deception third degree Oct. 17, 1998.

Natasha faced similar charges. She faced several charges of possession of a forged instrument in 2006 and 2007, along with a noise ordinance violation Sept. 26, 2006.

The pair now face much more serious charges.

Natasha has been charged with murder and abuse of the corpse, while Howell has been charged with abuse of a corpse and hindering prosecution.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department was still searching for Davenport’s body.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Randy Pugh said officers are still searching possible sites, but have not pinpointed the body’s location.

“We searched some areas yesterday (Tuesday), but we didn’t find anything,” he said. “We are still searching.”

Natasha and Howell have given differing accounts of where the body was dumped after the alleged murder, which has made the search difficult for law enforcement officers.

Monday, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Johnny Hatfield said dogs have been brought in from Montgomery to assist in the search. However, these efforts have been unsuccessful.

Natasha is being held on $3 million bond and Howell is on $1 million bond.
