The temperatures, and participation numbers were higher than usual Saturday as more than 50 members of the Selma Country Club hit the course in pursuit of the club championship.

Club pro Tommy Burns said the crowd had every cart at the club filled, which is great.

“We had 58, so it is up a little bit,” he said. “Normally, there are about 52 to 54 so we are above the previous two years.”

The tournament, which began with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, gives members a chance to interact and compete, Burns said.
