The Board of Trustees of Pioneer Electric Cooperative, Inc. recently announced the resignation of Steve Harmon, executive vice president and general manger, effective immediately.
“Mr. Harmon resigned to pursue other opportunities. He has been dedicated to shaping the future of Pioneer and we are sad to see him and his family go. Not only will this be a loss to Pioneer but the community as well,” Board of Trustees President Tommy Thompson said. “He helped the co-op through a challenging period and proactively guided us through numerous decisions that significantly benefited the membership. The cooperative is exceptionally well positioned strategically.”
The Board of Trustees plans to explore a full range of options as it considers Harmon’s successor.
“The board will take as much time as necessary to find the right candidate for Pioneer and its members,” Thompson said in the release. “We would like to thank Mr. Harmon for his dedicated service to the cooperative members, Trustees and employees and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Pioneer Electric Cooperative serves Butler, Dallas, Lowndes and Wilcox counties, in addition to parts of Autauga, Crenshaw, Covington, Conecuh and Monroe counties.
