Jarron Stallworth received a $1.5 million bond Wednesday on charges of assault and intimidating a witness.
Jarron was initially set to appear for a bond hearing in June, but his attorney Brandon Wooten requested a continuance to prepare.
District Attorney Michael Jackson said Jarron was charged with assault and intimidating a witness in a case that involved the murder trial of his brother, Tyrone.
“What happened is he and his brother beat up one of the witnesses on his brother’s murder case,” he said. “His brother is still on the run, but Jarron got caught and charged.”
Tyrone Javel Stallworth is on the run for multiple firearms charges.
Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said Tyrone is wanted on charges of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle Sept. 2, 2010 and also has warrants for harassing communications and probation violation.
He is also wanted in connection to a Sept. 13, 2011 shooting in the 3200 block of Water Avenue.
Tyrone is a black male in his late 20s who is about 5-foot-11-inches and weighs 180 pounds.
He is considered dangerous and the public is asked to provide any information on his whereabouts.
Anyone with information can call the department at 874-2120 or the Crime Stoppers line at 1-800-442-7463.
