Already, thousands of University of Alabama football fans have hit the highways and interstates on their way to New Orleans and what they hope will be a 14th national championship.
But, for those who plan to stay in town, there will be plenty of other viewing opportunities.
Selma Mayor George Evans announced last week the city will host a BCS National Championship viewing day at the Larry D. Striplin Jr. Performing Arts Center Monday, Jan. 9.
The event, Evans said, is free and open to the public.
“We just want everyone to come out and enjoy the game,” Evans said.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and there will be free food and drinks.
The Tally Ho restaurant also announced the game will be shown in its lounge area.
