Mark Rouleau has been promoted to Assistant Chief of Law Enforcement with the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Rouleau is based at the Montgomery headquarters, where as assistant chief he oversees the in-service officer training programs, assists in field operations, coordinates the Hunters Helping the Hungry Program, and serves as coordinator of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact among other duties.

“Mark brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to this position,” said Allan Andress, WFF Chief Enforcement Officer. “We are very proud to have the opportunity to utilize his abilities as assistant chief.”

Prior to Rouleau’s promotion, he served as a captain at the Montgomery headquarters for three years.

Before moving to Montgomery, Rouleau was assistant district supervisor for WFF District 3 for seven years. Rouleau has been with WFF for 26 years.

Among Rouleau’s other professional accomplishments he was named 1991 Alabama Wildlife Federation Officer of the Year, which earned him a mention in the Congressional Record for his outstanding service to the state.

In addition to serving the public through his law enforcement duties, Rouleau has volunteered with the Buckmasters Life Hunt, which grants hunting wishes to terminally ill and disabled hunters, for 22 years. “Assisting with the hunts is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can be a part of,” Rouleau said

The excitement the hunters experience is absolutely awesome.”

When away from work Rouleau enjoys fishing in Canada, spending time at Lay Lake with family and friends, and serves as president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 76 in Valley Grande.

He also coaches baseball, something he has done for 22 years. Rouleau and wife Marsha raised their five children in Valley Grande. They have eight grandchildren.
