“I really don’t know what they were,” Pugh said Friday morning. “I’m looking through reports now to see if any of our folks heard anything, saw anything.”

Sonic booms were reported in a number of Black Belt and south Alabama counties, including Wilcox and Choctaw counties.

As for the suspect UFO crash site on Dallas County Road 79, Chief Kenneth DeLoach, with the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department, said the department was working a vehicle accident, where a truck had collided with a power pole.

“We were out there for about four hours,” DeLoach said. “The truck crushed a power pole, which caused low-hanging lines above the road and we even had live lines down on the road.

“So, we blocked off the road until Alabama Power could get there and repair the pole and lines.”

DeLoach said no one was injured in the accident.

“No, there wasn’t a satellite or UFO crash,” he said laughing. “Sometimes people just make me laugh.”
