Selma leaders to break bread

The breakfast, Evans said, will put future things in motion and encourage leaders to collaborate.
“We’ll get team captains in all neighborhoods to try to come up with a plan,” Evans said. “We want to get some churches to reach out to churches in other neighborhoods — adopt neighborhood streets and territories.”
Leaders’ participation, Evans said, is critical.
“Thank you for all the work you already are doing for your church and the citizens of Selma,” Evans said in a letter addressed to leaders. “I look forward to working with you on this project to ensure a safer and cleaner place to live for all citizens.”
Tuskegee Mayor Omar Neal will be the guest speaker for the event. For more information about the event, call 874-2104.
