Steele wins Good Turn Award

“At no time did Jack lash out to the children or their mother for the injury she had caused Jack’s friend,” he said. “Later, Jack, his mother the friend and her mother took goody bags to the children.”
Steele said others from his troop have received the same award, and based on their deeds, he feels he is in good company.
“I’m excited to receive it because two other guys from my troop received it and they are excellent examples of scouting,” he said.
“It means a lot. Not everybody gets this award.”
The new class of Eagles was also introduced. These included Michael Hamner, Jeffrey Hubbard and Cobb Bostick from Troop 46, Steele, from Troop 94, and Alan Thurber from Troop 322.
Wood Badge trained scouters were also recognized. They included Malcolm McGee, Wallace Barker, Col. Glade H. Calder, J. Frank Howell, Ronald P. Binford, Ray Chamberlain, Steve Tidwell, Marshall Parker, Frank Mills, Willie Johnson, K.P. Thomas, Harry Prescott, David Barnes, Harold Wells, Claudia Wright, L’Jon Hill, Charles Longshore, Alfred Morelock, John Ingram, Bob Kelly, David Small, Leith Wilson, Hugh Mauldin, Bobby Oglesby, Albert Frazier, Debbie Caldwell, Donald Harvell, Donald Chandler, Winston Caldwell, Zack Kalinauskas, Bill and Dawne Bonner, Bob and Lisa Morenzoni, Dewayne Allday, John Mott and Brandon Morenzoni.
