Harris hopes Selma can continue that success going into the area tournament in a couple weeks, where it will be the host team.
“We hope we can keep the ball rolling as we look toward the playoffs,” Harris said.
“We’re trying to get some young people to step up because we know we’re going to need a bench down the stretch.”
Friday’s blowout win also enabled Harris to get some of his bench players more experience, which could help Selma in the postseason, where well-rested starters and a strong bench will be key.
“It helps because I need to give Jackson two minutes of rest each quarter and put in my wing (Kendra) McCovery,” Jackson said. “Those kids have been playing 28 minutes a game. J’Tia White came of the bench and she’s able to help Peeples and Caver in the middle. Ayana Moore looked good, Brenna Porter looked good. We’re looking at 10 to 11 players who can help us each night.”
