“This is a fundraiser where we provide dinner, cocktails, and we have live and silent auctions where we just auction off different stuff that businesses throughout the community have donated to us to put in packages and just have an auction,” Youngblood said.

Although the goods that will be auctioned off are still being gathered by the shelter, Youngblood said things such as outdoor furniture, paintings, a week’s stay at a condo in Gulf Shores and gift certificates have been auctioned off in the past, and some of the same items as well as Alabama and Auburn gear, including a football commemorating the Crimson Tide’s recent national title, will be auctioned off this year.

Youngblood said she’s hoping the community will come out and support the auction, which will in turn support those animals in need.

“I think the animal shelter just does so much good in Dallas County and the surrounding communities even,” Youngblood said. “We take in and help some of the animals that can’t help themselves and are homeless. We really just try to save them and take care of them, and we need to raise the funds to do that.”
