Cahaba Foundation elects new directors

Foundation president Daniel J. Meador said both Gale and Smith will bring “important strengths” to the board of directors.
“These new directors bring to the board longtime experience in civic affairs and commitment to historical preservation,” Meador said.
Existing board of directors include: Ralph Hobbs, vice president; B.M. Miller Childers, secretary and treasurer; directors Cartledge Blackwell and Linda Derry of Selma, Anne Dalton of Clanton; Bibb Lamar of Mobile; Mason McGowin of Chapman; Dr. Clifton Meador of Nashville; Howard Oliver of Minter; Jimmy Stewart and Lee Thuston of Birmingham, and Florence Young of Montgomery.
Founded in 2008, the Cahaba Foundation’s mission is to secure private financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations to restore Old Cahawba.
