Ronald Tipton Coffee, born June 20, 1933, in Lanett, Alabama, died January 28, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Imogene and Theodore Coffee; his brother, Gene Edward (Eleanor) Coffee and his great-nephew, Garrett Robinson Coffee.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Miriam Rhodes Coffee; twin brother, Donald Wilfred (Peggy) Coffee; close cousin, Wilfred (Mary Gail) Yeargan; brother-in-law, John O. (Virginia) Rhodes, Jr.; nephews, John Rhodes, III, Donnie Coffee, Jr., Gene Edward Coffee, Jr.; nieces, Vicki Rhodes, Connie Coffee (Gary) Allen, Christine Coffee (Larry) Grant, Kim Coffee Card, Paige Coffee (John) Corbo, and great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Ronnie graduated from Albert G. Parrish High School in 1951 and Auburn University in 1959. He spent two years in the U.S. Army; stationed in Japan with the Quartermaster Corps.

Upon graduating from Auburn, he returned to the family business, Coffee Printing Company, where he was a partner until retiring.

Ronnie was a life-long member of First Baptist Church where he taught the fourth grade boy’s class and sang in the church’s choir for forty-five years. He also served as a deacon. He was active in the Selma Civic Chorus; Selma Community Concert Association and “Messiah” Presentations.
