“It’s uplifting to the people — (it’s) something we’ve been trying to do for many years and the Lord brought it to pass through the pastor’s vision,” Bennett said. “I feel like shouting right now; people say it’s a complete renovation for the Lord.”

Standing on its foundational scripture found in Psalms 127, Bennett believes the work is ‘God’s doing.’

“’Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it,’” Bennett said referring to the scripture. “We come this far by faith through the help of the Lord. You don’t have to have eyes to have faith, all you have to do is believe.”

The dedication service is open to all and refreshments will be served. The Rev. Alex Tenner, pastor of Christian Light Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

As pastor of New Rising Star for 12 years, Bennett and his wife Gracie, have two children, Eugene Jr., and Tiffany Rena’.
