Fortunately, she said she had a strong support system to encourage her to reach for her goals.
“My family mostly inspired me, and I had always had the dream that my niche was to do hair,” she said. “My family encouraged me. My parents especially. My dad always told me to dream big.”
The salon, Jones said, will feature herself, Diane Nichols and Jennie Brown. There will also be a gift shop.
“It has a variety of things for women and men,” she said. “You can find something for everyone. We’ll have gift baskets and we will take orders for those. We will also have hair products.”
Throughout February, Jones said haircuts will be $10, down from the normal $12 that will be charged starting in March.
Coloring starts at $40, styles are $20 and waxing starts at $8.
Loretta’s Classic Cuts and Gift Shop will open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jones said walk-ins and appointments are welcome along with customers of all ages.
