“Everybody has different gifts and talents and we have to see how we’re going to use those gifts and talents to serve the community,” Kopp said.
With plans to continue FCA at other area schools and start up a church Boy Scout troop, Memorial currently holds senior luncheons and a small adult study group every Sunday.
“We’re studying three simple rules — ‘do no harm’, ‘do good’ and ‘stay in love with God’ — it’s real easy to say, but real hard to do,” Kopp chuckled. “I love that, it’s a wonderful study. We will (also) study ’24 hours that changed the world’ about the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life. I’m looking forward to starting something at different ages.”
And where does Kopp see himself in the next five years? Still making an impact.
“(I want to be) … a vibrant member of the Selma community,” Kopp said.
Married to his wife Lynnie for 41 years, the Kopps have two children, Jason and Kerri and four grandchildren.
