Atchison was a former member of Central Baptist Church and Elkdale Baptist Church and recently attended Orville United Methodist Church.

Atchison was an active volunteer in the community, participating in civic and church activities for as long as her health permitted.

Atchison was born Mattie Delene Dennis in Maplesville, before marrying Joseph Landon Green and moving to Selma.

The two were married 52 years before Green’s death in 2000.

Atchison is survived by her husband H.C. Atchison, who she married in 2006, daughter-in-law Martha Green, daughter Janis Rogan, sisters Dorothy Hubbard, Jeanette Giles, Elizabeth McCurdy, and Laura Shirley, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sandy Simmons officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. and interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.
