Jackson missed the second free throw, but Selma’s Jasmine Peeples got the rebound and scored under the basket to push the Lady Saints’ lead to 32-25 with 0:48 left.

Smith hit a pair of free throws to make it 32-27 with 0:37 left, but Demopolis again had to foul to extend the game with time running out, as Jackson hit both her free throws to put Selma ahead by seven at 34-27 with 0:34 left.

Demopolis didn’t score again, as the Lady Saints got a successful free throw from McCovery and two more from Karlynn Savage to close out the game.

Savage led the Lady Saints with 10 points, while Peeples had 8 points.

Jackson and Jameneshia Caver each had 7 points for Selma.

Smith led Demopolis with 12 points.

Peeples, Caver and Shakira Morgan were named to the all-tournament team for Selma, while Smith and Collins made the all-tournament team for Demopolis.

The Lady Saints will host the sub-regional playoffs starting Thursday, Feb. 16.
