Saints win in a thriller

“We played extremely hard, we still had some turnovers, but—as the old generation says—slowly, but surely, they (the players) were kind of buying in to what we were telling them,” Jackson said. “We don’t know everything, but I’ve been around the block a couple of times. If they listen, we can draw the X’s and O’s up, but they’ve got to execute. Sometimes the kids have to make a play, and they did that tonight.”

Selma had trailed by as much as ten points after going into halftime down 38-32, but opened the final quarter on a 10-0 run that included back-to-back fast break dunks by Murry and Kerry Mitchell, and three baskets from Quinterrius Rogers—the last of which gave the Saints their first lead since the second quarter.

Murry led the Saints with 23 points, 8 rebounds and two blocks, claiming tournament most valuable player honors.
