Pierce said there’s also options for those who can’t make the trip with the riders and those he can’t ride, but still want to help the fund raiser.

The option is virtual riders, which Pierce said are new for this year’s event.

“The virtual riders, there’s going to be two ways to do that. The first way is that if someone can’t actually ride with us, but they like to cycle and they want to log in some miles around their own hometown and fund raise they can do it that way,” Pierce said. “And if someone can’t ride at all, but they would like to do a bake sale or something that helps us with the fundraising goal, that’s how we’re going to set up. So they would actually still get a profile picture on our website that will say they’re a virtual rider.”
