Williams said agencies throughout Dallas County are better able to serve the citizens through funding provided by the Dallas County Commission. The Dallas County Health Department, the Selma-Dallas County Public Library, Department of Human Resources, Cahaba Mental Health and Dallas County Extension Services, to name a few, all benefit from funding provided by the Dallas County Commission.
In conjunction with his experience on the Dallas County Commission, Williams has a masters degree in political science, certificate of administration and supervision and a bachelors degree in government and economics from Alabama State University and a master of divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta.
Additional coursework was done at Auburn University, where he received a leadership certificate, and the University of Alabama where he studied government administration.
Williams is a member of First Baptist Church of Orrville. He is a member of the National, Alabama and Dallas County Professional Education Association, secretary of the Dallas County Missionary Baptist Association, Patterson Pride Lodge No. 749 and chaplain of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is presently pastoring in Dallas and Perry counties. He is also gospel program director for WHBB.
Williams taught government and economics in the Dallas County School system prior to his position as an instructor at the Dallas County Alternative Learning Center.
He is married to Jerolene Turner Williams and they have three children: Latanglia Marshay, Curtis Jr. and Rosa Pink. Williams said he gives all the praise to God for his guidance and the service God has allowed him to render through the years.
