“Everyone there can also enter their name into a drawing by paying $3, $5 or $8 for however many timers they want to put their name in,” Gomes said. “Then at the end of the day, whatever profit we make we write a check and we give it to the animal shelter. The businesses sponsoring that we’re going to be having for drawings would present whatever gifts they have to the persons who win the drawings.”
Gomes said the class decided on donating to the shelter because it felt the animals were always in need of help.
“We voted on it and our hearts were led to those animals,” Gomes said. “I know that one of the girls had worked some time with the animal shelter and she saw the need there, and she talked to the class. We all thought as a group that would be the best project to help out.”
