A local Head Start program is looking to recruit more young children soon.

The Central Alabama Child Development and CDC, Inc. Head Start Program will hold its 2012-2013 recruitment kick off Monday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its location at 713 J.L. Chestnut, Jr. Boulevard.

The federally funded program that supports low-income families is recruiting pre-school children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Judith Hardy, staffing and community partnership manager with The Central Alabama Child Development and CDC, Inc. Head Start Program, said recruitment is done all year, but this particular recruitment drive will kick off the program year and help inform parents of the program’s new name.

“We do it year round, but the one in March starts our program year,” Hardy said. “On the fifth this year we’re trying to do a big advertisement because we changed our name. We’re Central Alabama Child Development.”

Hardy said the kick off will help parents register children for the program and meet some of those involved.
