From mixed media to pastel or oil and acrylic works of art, if you enjoy various art mediums, the ArtsRevive annual Juried Art Exhibition is the place for you. Showcasing more than 100 pieces of art from more than 40 Alabama artists, the show is open every Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. until April 30 inside the Carneal ArtRevive Building.
In its 10th year, the free exhibition, which first opened March 10, displays works from child and adult artists.
Ann Thomas of ArtsRevive said the event offers something for everyone.
“There are all kinds of art — watercolor, three dimensional, drawings and photography,” Thomas said. “We have from 11-years-old on up. We didn’t have a student or an adult division. We have some (adults) who are in retirement (and) some just getting started. We have all age levels.”
Thomas said the event is a chance for the public to not only enjoy artwork but also history.
“They will see outstanding art work in a historic building,” Thomas said. “They’ll not only be able to enjoy the artwork but enjoy viewing a historic building; they can (also) enjoy a view overlooking the Alabama River.
