Sis “Guy-Guy” Cook

Sis “Guy-Guy” Cook, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 84 in Houston, Texas, on the 1st of June 2012. Sis was a member of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and she loved the Lord dearly.
Sis was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and moved to Selma, Alabama when she married her husband, Claude Cook. Together, they lived in Selma for 50 years where they raised their family of four girls before moving to Texas. Sis spent the last 14 years of her life in Houston. The greatest joys of her life were her four girls and grandchildren, but she shared her love with all that called her Guy-Guy. Sis lit up a room with her warmth, humor, and laughter and all that met her loved her. We will miss her each and every day!
Sis is preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Leo Chausse; husband, Claude T. Cook; sister, Ann Smith and husband, Charlie; brother, James Bunner; and her beloved grandson, John Fontaine Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Bunner; daughters, Janet McBrayer, Annie Wheless and her husband, Brownie, Nancy Fontaine and her husband, Jack, and Marcia Montgomery; grandchildren, Josh, Hayden, and Reid McBrayer, David, Nancy, and Claude Wheless; step-granddaughter, Mary Kay Hunt, Harris and Elizabeth Fontaine, Rollins and his wife Carrie, Pearson and his wife Alexandra, Greer, and Warren Montgomery; great grandchildren, Madison and Kaitlin Montgomery; nieces and nephews in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Chicago, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio.
The family extends their sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the many friends who shared their love, prayers, and numerous acts of kindness for Guy-Guy.
The family will gather for a private memorial service at “The Farm” in Cat Spring,Texas.
