TUSCALOOSA — Mary Dawson Bailey London, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died June 7, 2012, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Meginniss and the Rev. Dr. Catherine Collier officiating. Private family burial will be Tuesday at Old Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with Heritage Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. A reception will be held Monday following the service in Randall Hall at Christ Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.H.R. Dawson; an infant sister, Alice A. Dawson; and her husbands, Earle C. Bailey and John London IV.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice A. Bailey; two sons, N. Dawson Bailey and Earle C. Bailey Jr.; and one grandson, Nat W. Bailey.
Mary was born April 7, 1930, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.H.R. Dawson of Selma. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the King, and the Pradat Guild. She was a longtime employee of The University of Alabama, where she was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church Building Fund, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of one’s choice.
