Maurice Leon Brown

Maurice was born in Selma, Alabama to Jack & Bessie Brown. He graduated from Parish High School, class of 1951.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anne Peeke Brown and 4 sons, Maurice, Jr (Lee), Judson Wade, Vernon Tipton and Kenan Glenn. He was preceded in death by his second son, James Brett Brown. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Shannon King, Amanda Brown, Lee Jon Brown, Maury Brown and Eddie Blount, 2 great grandchildren, Seth & Micah Brown, and 2 brothers, Houston Brown of Birmingham, Alabama and Carroll Brown of New York City, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice was a proud alumnus of Auburn University where he majored in engineering. He worked for the City of Tampa for 26 years in senior supervisory and management positions.
He also worked for Hillsborough County as manager of one of its offices before moving to the private sector. On retirement, he moved to his beloved home on the Suwannee River in north Florida.
Memorial Services will be conducted at Calvary Temple Church in Cross City, FL on Saturday June 30th. At 11:30 am.
