Robert Barron Woodfin, Jr.

Robert Barron Woodfin, Jr., died September 4, 2012 in Selma, Alabama after a lengthy illness of Lewy Body Dementia. Bob was born in Selma on November 17, 1936. A member of the University of Alabama Golf Team, Bob graduated in 1957. In 1963, Bob pursued a career as a professional golfer. After living and working as the golf professional and teaching pro at Trumball Country Club in Warren, Ohio for over 40 years, Bob retired to West Palm Beach, Florida. He continued to teach the sport he loved. While in Warren, he enjoyed working with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was very active in his church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ashley Woodfin in 2004 as well as his parents, Robert and Eleanor Woodfin. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Ashley.
Surviving Bob are his daughter, Jennifer Woodfin Pack of Warren, Ohio and five grandchildren, Addie, Ashley, Lexie, Taylor, and Hunter and two great granddaughters and one great grandson. His sister and her husband, Coralie and Charles Frazer, Jr., his niece, Laurin (Brent) Beard of Auburn, and his nephews Bob (Mary Beth) Frazer of Selma and Steve (Candice) Frazer of Sewanee, TN, as well as his sweet friend and sister-in-law, Marty Ashley of West Palm Beach, FL
The family appreciates all the great caregivers at Park Place Nursing Home who took such wonderful care of Bob.
A service to celebrate his life will be held in Warren, Ohio.
