Marietta Grant MosesSexton, 90, born December 2, 1922 in Montgomery, AL to Joseph Michael and Ada Giddons Moses, died June 15, 2013. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Sexton; brother, Joseph Michael Moses; sisters Mary Moses Cooper and Theresa Moses Brooks. She is survived by her sons, William Glenn (Joann) Sexton, Arthur Michael (Eddie Joyce) Sexton, Joseph Alan (Patty) Sexton, Thomas Grant (Pam) Sexton; her daughter Janie (Ed) O’Gwynn; her niece Angela Brooks Bailey; her nephew, R.W. “Woody” Brooks; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour prior to Eucharist service at Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, 2911 Woodley Road, Montgomery, AL. Service will be Wednesday, June 19 at 11AM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Sexton, Bubba O’Gwynn, Grant Sexton, Tyler Sexton, Joe Alan Sexton, Jr., and Marty Freeman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Driver, Dennis Gibson, Dr. Mac Porter, David Hughes, Charlie Thomas, and Jim Kyker. The Rev. Bob Hennagin and The Rev. Drake Whitelaw will be Officiating. In lieu of flowers Donation can be made to The Church of the Holy Comforter or Camp McDowell 105 Delong Road, Nauvoo, AL 35578. The family would like to express their appreciation to everyone at John Knox Nursing Home for their compassion and love in caring for their mother.
