A thief made off with a large amount of money from the photo department at Walmart, but security camera footage may help law enforcement officials identify and track down the culprit.
Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the Selma Police Department said the thief dismantled a cash register in the store’s photography lab and made off with a large amount of money.
“Apparently our unknown suspect went in to the photo lab area about 8 p.m. last night, removed the cash register from up-under the counter and the cash register was later found busted open in a corner inside the Walmart and right now they estimate the suspect got away with about $1,200,” Muhannad said.
The store was open at the time of the robbery and Muhannad said the incident was captured on security cameras inside the store.
“Walmart is supposed to supply us with the video on Monday,” Muhannad said. “And there is a chance that if the incident was captured on a camera inside the store, that we could see what door they went out and how they left the scene.”
Muhannad asks those with knowledge of the theft or the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers call, 1-800-442-7463 or call the Selma Police Department at (334) 874-6611.
