We must be morally strong to survive

It is the dawning of a new year, and I’m just wondering how many feel good about the coming year and what lies ahead. Except for the elitist in Washington, D.C. who seem to think their royal status will continue regardless to what happens to the country, I believe most view it rather bleakly. If the past five years are any indication, we are entering even more trying times.
Among all the other shenanigans going on is the complete befuddlement of the health care system in America. Can you imagine the problems with it considering they can’t even get a website right? Do you trust these folks taking over a sixth of the American economy without the expertise to produce a workable website? I predict long lines of suffering physically and monetarily before this thing is settled. Money in the millions have been spent already just on the roll out of the program. The price tag on Oct. 1 was $634 million without anyone being signed up for coverage. There are only 317 million people in the U.S. They could have awarded every man, woman and child $2 just from the money spent leading up to enrollment. But then, you wouldn’t have unaffordable health care dictated by the federal government.
I detest being a pessimist, but Washington D.C. politicians give me no other choice. I have completely lost faith in those elected to lead the country. They are leading the nation right straight down a path of damnation, bankruptcy and ultimate destruction. I would say God help us, but I believe God depends on us to make wise decisions.
Our nation is sick and in need of an old fashion revival. Perhaps we should go back and do our first works all over again and seek God‘s guidance. Listen to what the father of our nation said on the issue: “[T]he propitious smiles of Heaven, can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained.” –George Washington, First Inaugural Address, 1789
If unwilling to heed sound advice from a founding father how about the Bible itself:
“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2).
I ask, where is the moral majority that would allow our country to drift so far astray? The moral majority has fallen down on their duty of electing like-minded individuals. This will surely irk the politically correct, but where are the Jerry Falwells to call out the righteous to action. The pulpits should be abuzz with blistering sermons on the immorality being imposed on employers, Christians, and other nations. We have become the chief exporter of immorality and the Hollywood other nations have always judged us as being.
We need to be morally strong, fiscally independent and militarily superior to survive the 21st century.
