The bond for a Dallas County man accused of his brother’s Monday murder was set at $150,000 Friday by Dallas County District Judge Bob Armstrong.
Eddie Mixon is being held at the Dallas County Jail and is facing a charge of murder first degree stemming from the Monday shooting death of his brother, Stanley Mixon.
Mixon’s bond hearing was held Thursday, but Armstrong was unable to decide on a bond at that time.
Mixon’s $150,000 bond was far less than the $1 million bond sought by District Attorney Michael Jackson.
“Obviously, we wanted a higher bond,” Jackson said.
According to Jackson, Mixon’s defense attorney, Alston Keith, had petitioned Judge Armstrong for a $100,000 bond during Thursday’s bond hearing.
A preliminary hearing for the case has been scheduled to take place Thursday, Aug. 21.
